At the worst of times, I was frustrated that I had nothing to do but wait for a new round of funding so I could order a rocket from Earth to provide a much-needed injection of crucial resources and get the production loop working again. At the best of times, I felt like I was in a sci-fi movie where I had to figure out how to get life support back online before everyone died. A break anywhere in the chain can lead to cascading, catastrophic failure. ![]() Since resources are constantly consumed to maintain every structure and power cable, rather than just when they’re first built, production needs to be kept up at a minimum baseline at all times. ![]() According to Surviving Mars, people need food, water, and oxygen to live. Just about everything comes down to having enough of the proper resources and the ability to get them where they need to be, creating a complex supply chain puzzle. How was I supposed to know that if I didn’t get a machine parts factory running quickly, I’d lose my ability to generate electricity and have to watch helplessly as everything falls apart? It’s the kind of game where I’d recommend you watch someone else who knows what they’re doing play it and take in the basics of keeping a colony’s lights on before diving in yourself. How was I supposed to know that I needed a machine parts factory quickly? It became a lot more fun once I’d failed my way into a better grasp of its systems, but that initial learning period was more frustrating than anything else. ![]() As I was learning the ropes I spent a lot of time sitting around confused about what to do next while I waited for a crucial advancement to become available in the semi-randomized tech tree or for my pool of prospective colonists back on Earth to refill. To be fair, Surviving Mars is mostly a sandbox game in which you’re free to run your colony as you see fit, but there are certain benchmarks you’re encouraged to hit, like maintaining a colony of at least 100 people. Getting all of these pieces to work together is no simple task, and you’re given relatively incomplete, almost bare-minimum advice on how to do so.

![]() You can download this from the homepage here. Today I want to show you how to setup and use an action for Dropzone 4 that allows you to download videos from YouTube.įirst you’re going to need Dropzone 4 Pro. Check it out below if you haven’t seen it. We’ve also added a new Dropzone 4 Introduction video taking you over a few basics of using Dropzone and showing a few tricks you might not have seen. This brings the handling for existing files inline with how you’re used to it working in the Finder. Now we have added in a third option to ‘Keep Both’ which will add a numeric suffix to the file. When using the Move or Copy Files actions to move or copy a file that already existed the only options before were to replace the file or stop the operation. There’s also an often requested feature that has that has finally made it into Dropzone 4. It only has Settings for now but we may add further options in here in future updates. There’s also a right-click menu that has been added into the menu item. When you click the menu item to open the Dropzone grid it will now show a highlight around it like other toggled menu items: You will likely notice a few cosmetic changes that have been happening in the app as well. We have made a short video to show you how to use these two new features below:ĭropzone 4 has now been fully updated for macOS Sonoma. You can now easily use it as a tool to organise multiple files for multiple projects. This feature combined with renaming takes Drop Bar to a new level. We have also added the ability to reorder items in Drop Bar by dragging them around inside the Dropzone grid. Now you can just drag the files into a Drop Bar stack, assign a name and then when you’re ready either separate the stack to get the files individually or just drag the whole stack to where you need it. For example, you might have some files that you know you’re going to need to finish a project and those files are scattered around different locations on the web and on your Mac and you need to collect them all into one place. This gives you a fantastic way to group a bunch of files for a specific project. ![]() ![]() The name that you assign won’t impact the source files and is purely used as a labelling to help you organise things in Dropzone. Just right-click a stack and choose ‘Name Stack’ from the menu or hover over a stack in Drop Bar and hit enter to assign the items in a stack a name. After listening to user feedback on Drop Bar we have added some new features to Dropzone 4 that we think you’ll find super useful. ![]() This week, Bloody Disgusting caught up with Giamatti to find out how he came to play Christian Barbrow, the inspiration behind the character, and his love of horror. ![]() Bloody Disgusting spoke with de la Iglesia about Season 2 last month, where the horror filmmaker touched on his overarching plans for the series as well as casting acclaimed actor Paul Giamatti in the role of this season’s terrifying villain. The season two finale of the HBO Original Series “30 Coins” arrives on Monday, December 11, concluding a season long, high stakes battle between our heroes and ruthless enemies led by sycophant billionaire Christian Barbrow ( Paul Giamatti ).ĭirected and co-written by Álex de la Iglesia, along with co-writer Jorge Guerricaechevarría, Max’s “30 Coins” takes viewers into a world where nothing is as it seems, and nobody can be trusted. But if that never materializes, at least we’ll have Crawl, which is coming to theaters this weekend! Hey Sam Raimi… if you’re reading this right now, may I suggest Drag Me FROM Hell, in which we learn Justin Long’s character has spent the last ten years studying the occult, trying to figure out how to get the love of his life back, and comes up with his own, terrifying plan? “But this is such a definitive ending that in my mind I didn’t know where to start with a sequel.” “Usually, for me, I’m left with a character like Bruce Campbell, that I really am interested or like, or a concept that really feels like it needs to continue,” Raimi added. So I didn’t know how to proceed with the sequel. “I don’t have a story, because in my mind the character got killed, and worse. “Oh, well, if somebody had a good story,” Raimi says, when we ask if he’d ever consider a follow-up. “I thought that was a really funny cocktail for me.”īut the problem with the ending of Drag Me to Hell is that, even ten years later, it’s so final that Raimi doesn’t know where a sequel to go. “I thought it would be shocking to title the film ‘Drag Me to Hell’ and actually end it with giving exactly what the title demanded, and still making it incredibly shocking,” Raimi muses. “It is a morality tale, she did do the wrong thing, but holy cow, give her a break! But that’s how this particular tale. “No, I feel that the poor girl was overpunished, as it happens in life sometimes,” Raimi says. One of the most memorable moments of Drag Me to Hell is the film’s ending, in which Alison Lohman’s character – after thinking she had escaped Hell’s wrath – gets violently dragged, kicking and screaming into the underworld, in broad daylight.Īnd in case anyone was wondering, Sam Raimi doesn’t think she deserved it. It’s like a cascade of… it’s just awful.” I often feel that when the studio makes you cut things or add things and change things, it really ruins the entire experience for me. “So in a way, I feel great about it because of that. “That’s the thing you lose, often, that I had on that picture, and I really was able to do just what I wanted,” Raimi remembers. “And mostly I loved having absolute creative control over the film. And I just loved working with my brother Ivan on the script. I loved shooting it with my old friend Peter Deming, who shot Evil Dead 2 with me. “I love the crew, I love working with Alison Lohman and my friend Bob Murawski, my editor. “I look back really fondly ,” Sam Raimi says. In a new interview with Bloody-Disgusting for the upcoming killer alligator movie Crawl, which Sam Raimi produced, we asked the filmmaker for his thoughts about the film ten years later, and why there has never been a follow-up. And yet, even the film, starring Alison Lohman as a loan officer who cancels an old woman’s mortgage and gets cursed to eternal damnation for her sins, was a sizable hit… there has never been a sequel. It’s been ten years since Evil Dead director Sam Raimi had a horror film in theaters, but the legacy of his last scary movie – the excellent and shocking Drag Me to Hell – seems secure.
